Anywhere in Montenegro — including off-the-map viewpoints around Durmitor, Lovćen and Biogradska Gora. The vehicle is covered on unpaved roads as long as you stay on legal tracks.

Do I need a 4x4 to reach the mountains?

All main roads to Žabljak, Kolašin and Durmitor are paved. A SUV or 4x4 is more comfortable on narrow switchbacks and gives extra ground clearance for unpaved viewpoints.

Are the mountain roads open year-round?

Yes — the main routes (M3, M18) are cleared and open in every season. For off-the-map viewpoints in spring, we recommend a 4x4 or all-wheel-drive vehicle.
